INFO ABOUT SILENT THE AUCTION
The silent aution will run in the school gym from 3 - 5:45pm.
There will be items for auction in the school gym, valuing over $7000 from local business. On the sheet, you can bid for the item at the price interval indicated on the item's sheet. (eg: If an item's starting bid is $25, and the price interval is $5, you can bid $25 or higher. Then the next person's bid will need to be $30 or higher).
You do not need to be present to win the bid. If you do win, you will be contacted and we accept cash, cheque or e-transfer directly to the PAC account.
You can pay for/pick up your item at roughly 6:15pm if you are still at the event. If you are not able to pick up your item on the 14th, we will contact you by text on the 15th. You will have until Tuesday, June 18th to arrange payment and pick-up of your item or it will be awarded to the next highest bidder.
THE COUCH IS BACK... SORT OF...
Pre-Covid, we used to auction off front-row seats on a couch at the Winter Concert. Unfortunately, the couch itself didn't make it through Covid (and there's been no replacement), but we are happy to offer the chance to bid on front-row seats at the Winter Concert again! Come to the gym on Friday before 5:45pm and check it out!
In addition, we have some big items at the silent auction, totaling over $7000! Please see the above posters for more info. We have an estate planning package from Munro and Crawford ($2300), a beautiful original painting by Carr-parent Ieva Baklane, bread for a year at Cobs ($400), an unlimited month at Rumble Boxing ($300), and much, much more! Come by the gym before 5:45 and place some bids!
A reminder that you do not have to be present to win at the end. We can accept cash, cheque, or e-transfer.
Lastly, we're excited to have two Carr-family-owned businesses present this year, who are helping the PAC fundraise through their profits: Little Treasures will have a shop set up in the gym with many toys, crafts and stationary items. Makin' Cakes will be set up in the courtyard outside the gym, selling lots of delicious baked goodies.
Rain or shine, come out and have some fun on Friday from 3-6:30!
MORE INFO
Please bring in your gently-used books for a book sale that will take place in the gym alongside the Silent Auction. Drop them off at the collection box in front of the office by June 13th - thank you! For those that donated books back in March, we have saved them and will be putting them out at the Carr-nival. The Book Sale will be by donation, similar to the previous one. Come check out the tables for some new-to-you books in the gym at the Carr-nival!
CARR-NIVAL FAQs
Will there be access to washrooms at the event?
Yes! Washrooms can be accessed through the school entrance by the basketball courts.
Is there an admission fee?
No, the event is free but bring some cash for snacks (popcorn, professionally baked goods and popsicles) and cash or cheques for the silent auction.
Will the event happen if it rains?
Rain? What rain? It never rains in Vancouver! ;) Some activities will be moved to the covered areas but the event will happen rain or shine.
My child is in after school care. Can they go with their after school group?
Unfortunately after school care supervisors will not be accompanying the kids. Children will need to be accompanied by their guardian or another trusted adult.
*"MUSICAL CAKES" INFORMATION:
"Musical cakes" is like musical chairs! It's $1 per play. There is a circle of chairs and participants walk around them until the music stops. At that point, everyone playing must sit on a chair. Anyone who does not claim a vacant chair is eliminated. One chair is taken away and another round begins until only one person is left standing. This winner wins a cake! The game ends when we run out of cakes!
This game is made possible by donations of cake. Please consider donating and ensure your items are nut-free and label them with any major allergens.
Please contact Lydia if you have any questions! We hope to see you all there!
