PAST INITIATIVES

A year end celebration was had at the Carr-nival, which included a BBQ and potluck, silent auction, musical cakes, face painting, seedling sale, a selfie booth, and lots of fun games! Volunteers showed up to make this long awaited event return in full force.

Every year at the end of our annual Sports Day, the PAC treats everyone to popsicles made by a local frozen treat maker. The perfect end to a fun filled day!

In celebration of Bike to School Week, Emily Carr encouraged students and families to use active transportation to help reduce traffic congestion around our school. A Kid's Bike Guide was created and volunteers provided a biking "bus" for kids to ride together as a group. Bravo!

Delicious pie was devoured in the name of fundraising. Maybe next year we will coordinate it for International Pi Day.

PAC's very own garage sale, with items donated from the school community to help fund PAC's many initiatives. Many items were passed onto new homes during this spring cleaning event.

We teamed up with some of our Grade 7s to put on this event. Donated old toys, games, books and puzzles got a second chance at life and aligned with Emily Carr's efforts for zero waste.

To show appreciation for our teachers during Parent Teacher conferences, the PAC requests families to contribute to a potluck so teachers can refuel as their meetings go late into the evening. 

An annual fundraiser to celebrate the holidays with something sweet, all the while supporting the PAC! Easter's orders raised money for the Gr 7's year end camping trip.

Books were donated! Books were rehomed! The joy of literacy was celebrated and bookworms rejoiced.

Emily Carr hosted a costume exchange to encourage reuse. Coffee and sweets were also available for purchase while perusing the tables of gently used costumes that families happily donated. This fundraised over $200 for the PAC!

It had been two years since this kind of of event had been held at Emily Carr, so we were happy to see so many member of the community come out and enjoy the sun, games and atmosphere!

The new Raven's logo was made available on t-shirts for students and staff. Over $700 was raised for the PAC during this fundraiser! Promo page HERE

Students shared their messages of support by sending cards to our neighbourhood's hospital. This was in conjunction with a larger appreciation event written about here.

A simple website was put together to showcase PAC initiatives and consolidate information for the school community to access online.

Students joined a larger initiative by Mt Pleasant Neighbourhood House to sent thoughtful Valentines to local care homes during COVID's isolating time.

Lead by local burger joint, Johnny Rockets, students made heartfelt cards of appreciation to VGH healthcare workers to accompany a delicious burger meal. Read more about Operation Rocket here.
